Learning never stops
Constant learning is everything in this craft. I’ve been studying under Streaky recently, diving deep into the principles of mixing, grouping, and understanding why certain sounds work together and others don’t. His approach reinforces something I’ve always believed, this process never ends. You can always refine, always evolve, and always push your sound further. Every new insight adds another layer to how I think about balance, space, and energy in a mix.
When I listen back to what I was making around the time of Digital Horizon, it’s honestly hilarious compared to what I’m producing now. The growth is obvious, and that’s the point. Almost everything I’ve learned has been self taught, outside of the early Logic basics I picked up from Psidream years ago. That foundation set me off on a path of experimentation and constant study. The drive to improve, to understand why something works instead of just copying what does, is what keeps me moving forward.
